Hope Makers Organization for Woman (HMOW) Participates in 16 Days of Activism Against Violence at Duhok University

26/11/2023 - Hope Makers Organization for Woman (HMOW) proudly participated in the 16 Days of Activism Against Violence event at Duhok University, organized by the GBV Working Group under the supervision of Duhok’s Governor, Dr. Ali Tatar. The event aimed to raise awareness and combat violence against women and girls, aligning with the global movement to end gender-based violence.

In collaboration with the Directorate of Combating Violence Against Women (DCVAW), HMOW contributed to the success of the event by distributing informative flyers detailing the organization's services and activities. The event also featured a display of handcrafted items created by HMOW’s beneficiaries, showcasing the talents and resilience of the women Hope Makers supports.

HMOW, particularly focused on assisting survivors in the Sinjar region—home to many Yazidi people—continues to provide vital psychological, social, physical, legal, and economic support. Through awareness campaigns and training programs, HMOW strives to promote the rights of women and girls in Iraq, advocating for their protection and empowerment.

Special thanks go to CDCS and Première Urgence Internationale for their support of HMOW’s participation in this important event. This partnership strengthens the collective effort to create a safer and more supportive environment for survivors of violence.
